JAMES PINNERI

James Pinneri is a Classically trained Baritone from Perth, WA. He has completed his Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice at WAAPA under the tutelage of acclaimed Baritone Michael Lewis. He won the inaugural ‘Winifred Hurford’ award as part of the Royal Schools of Music Club Excellence Awards in 2022. James is an inaugural Margaret Pride Scholar and now a Young Artist with the Perth Symphonic Chorus. James received the Men’s Vocal Championship award aswell as Most Outstanding Senior Vocalist award at the North of Perth Music Festival (2023). He has sung in the West Australian Opera Chorus as well as performed in a sold out new production “Enchanted Encounters: Songs of the Supernatural” which was revived at the 2024 Fringe Festival, Perth. In 2024 he sung the role of Belcore in Opus Wa’s production of L’elisir d’amore, the role of Papageno for Freeze Frame Opera’s 2024 Schools Tour in “The Magic Kazoo” (Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte). He sang with the WA Opera Young Artists in the annual ‘Morning Melodies’ concert at His Majestys Theatre as well as in Mandurah. He also sung the role of Leporello in Freeze Frame Operas production of Don Giovanni in November. This year he is moving to Sydney to be a Young Artist with Pacific Opera.
